Preamble
Hindupat Institute of Teacher Training is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, dignified, and fear-free academic environment for all students. In strict compliance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, the Institute has constituted an Anti-Ragging Cell to prevent, prohibit, and eliminate all forms of ragging on campus.
Definition of Ragging
Ragging includes any act—whether verbal, physical, psychological, or written—that causes mental or physical harassment, humiliation, intimidation, or fear among students, particularly freshers.
Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Cell
- To ensure zero tolerance towards ragging in any form.
- To create a secure, disciplined, and learner-centric campus environment.
- To promote mutual respect, harmony, and ethical conduct among students.
- To spread awareness regarding anti-ragging laws, rules, and consequences.
- To provide a confidential and responsive grievance redressal mechanism.
Functions of the Cell
- Conduct awareness Programmes, orientations, and sensitization sessions.
- Monitor academic and residential spaces to prevent ragging incidents.
- Receive complaints and ensure prompt, impartial, and confidential inquiry.
- Recommend disciplinary action in accordance with UGC and institutional norms.
- Coordinate with administration, faculty, and parents for effective prevention.
Anti-Ragging Policy
- Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the campus and its vicinity.
- Any student found guilty of ragging shall face strict disciplinary action, which may include suspension, expulsion, cancellation of admission, or legal proceedings as per UGC guidelines.
- The Institute assures complete protection to complainants against victimization.
Preventive Measures
- Mandatory anti-ragging undertakings by students and parents.
- Display of anti-ragging notices at prominent locations.
- Regular interaction between faculty and students.
- Continuous monitoring by designated committees.
Grievance Redressal Mechanism
Students may report incidents of ragging:
- Directly to the Anti-Ragging Cell members
- Through written or verbal complaints
Confidential complaints will be handled with utmost sensitivity and urgency.
