The Alumni Association of Hindupat Institute of Teacher Training, Raghogarh, Guna

(AAHITT)

The name of the association shall be “The Alumni Association of Hindupat Institute of Teacher Training, Raghogarh, Guna”, with the abbreviation AAHITT. The membership of the Association shall be open to all former students (alumni) and teaching staff of the College, irrespective of their current place of posting or residence, whether in India or abroad. The Association aims to strengthen the bond between the Institute and its alumni, promote professional growth, and encourage active participation in the academic, social, and developmental activities of the Institution.

Office

The office of the Alumni Association shall be located at the premises of Hindupat Institute of Teacher Training, Raghogarh, District Guna, Madhya Pradesh – 473226.

Aims and Objectives

The association shall be non-political and non-sectarian in nature. The principal aims and objectives of the association shall be:

  • A. To provide a forum for alumni of the college to get together from time to time and to promote social, cultural, and motivational activities.
  • B. To promote Teacher Education, Social Science, Pedagogy, Psychology, and Science-related activities, and to enhance environmental awareness among students.
  • C. To promote Nationalism and Bhartiya Gyan Parampara through Sanskrit-related activities.
  • D. To promote defence awareness and social safety awareness activities.

Activities

In pursuance of the aims and objectives of the Association, the following activities are proposed:

  • To organize an AAHITT Day on the first Sunday of the month of March every year as a social and cultural event.
  • Organization of lectures by eminent scientists and sponsoring seminars, workshops, etc., on science-related subjects.
  • To interact with school students for propagating and popularising basic sciences and earth science.
  • To encourage members of the Association to enrich the college library and the libraries of various departments by donating books or by presenting books on scientific subjects.
  • To interact with the teaching staff of the college with a view to promoting qualitative improvement in teaching, especially in newly emerging disciplines.

Rules and Regulations

1. Membership

The membership of the Association shall be open to any person who was a student of the college. In other words, it shall remain open to all students who have completed their Diploma, Graduation, and Post-Graduation courses (D.El.Ed., B.A. B.Ed., B.Ed., B.A., B.Sc.) as students of the college. The membership shall also be open to all faculty members of the college, irrespective of whether or not they were students of this college.

For becoming a member, a person must:

  • Subscribe to the aims and objectives of the Association.
  • Apply in writing for membership in the prescribed form.
  • Pay the prescribed membership fee and other fees, if any, on admission, as decided by the Executive Committee.

2. Classes of Membership

The Association shall have the following classes of membership:

(a) Life Member

Any individual paying, in one lump sum, an amount of Rs. 1000/- or such amount as may be prescribed by the Executive Committee shall be a Life Member.

(b) Honorary Member

The Executive Committee shall have the right to elect any individual as an Honorary Member who has made an outstanding contribution to society in the field of Teacher Education, Social Science, or Science.

An Honorary Member shall have the right to attend the General Body meetings but shall not have the right to vote.

(c) Annual Member

If any individual does not pay the fee for Life Membership, he/she may pay the prescribed fee and become an Annual Member. The fee structure for Annual Members shall be as follows:

  • Diploma students: Rs. 100/-
  • Graduate students: Rs. 100/-
  • Postgraduate students: Rs. 200/-
(d) Ex-officio / Special Category

In addition to the above categories of membership, the Principal of the College shall be the Honorary Member of the Association.

Note:
A. The fee structure shall be subject to revision by the Executive Committee, if, in its wisdom, it becomes necessary in future.
B. The Association shall maintain a register of members indicating the name, address, category/type of membership, and date of enrolment.

3. Suspension and Termination of Membership

The membership of any individual member shall be suspended or terminated if he/she is found guilty of moral turpitude, or is convicted of a criminal offence in the eyes of law, or if his/her conduct is not in conformity with accepted social norms, or if he/she becomes insane or insolvent. The Executive Committee may suspend or terminate the membership of such a member with the approval of the General Body only.

4. Rights and Privileges

  • Every member of the Association shall be bound by the Articles, Rules, and Regulations of its Constitution and by the decisions of the Executive Committee, taken from time to time.
  • Every member of the Association shall be entitled to benefits, rights, and privileges as provided under the Constitution of the Association.
  • A member of the Association may request the Executive Committee to circulate any information among the members, provided that, in the opinion of the Executive Committee, such information is of general interest and likely to be beneficial to the members.

5. Executive Committee

I. The affairs of the Association shall be managed by the Executive Committee, which shall consist of the following:

  • • President – One
  • • Vice-Presidents – Two
  • • Secretary – One
  • • Joint Secretaries – Two
  • • Treasurer – One
  • • Members – Eleven

II. The right to elect the Executive Committee shall rest with the General Body of the Association. The election to the Executive Committee shall ordinarily be held at the Annual General Body Meeting, for which the Secretary shall issue a three weeks’ notice in advance to individual members in writing.

III. The Executive Committee shall appoint an Election Officer who shall conduct the elections at the Annual General Body Meeting. The Election Officer shall be independent of the Executive Committee.

IV. If the number of valid nominations received for any office is equal to the number of posts, the Election Officer shall declare the candidate(s) elected unanimously. If the number of valid nominations for a given post is more than the number of posts, the election shall be held by a show of hands, and the candidate(s) securing the highest number of votes shall be declared elected.

V. If no nomination is received for any office/post, the President, on behalf of the Executive Committee, shall propose a candidate at the General Body Meeting, and upon obtaining the consent of the General Body, such candidate shall be declared elected to the post.

VI. Term of the Executive Committee: The term of the elected Executive Committee shall be for a period of three years.

6. Duties of Office Bearers

(a) President

The President shall preside over the meetings of the Executive Committee and regulate the proceedings. He/ She shall supervise the administration and general affairs of the Association.

(b) Vice-President

In the absence of the President, the Vice-President shall preside over the meetings of the Executive Committee and conduct the proceedings. If both the President and the Vice-President are absent, the members of the Executive Committee shall choose one among themselves to preside over the meeting.

(c) Secretary

The Secretary shall maintain all records and carry out the administrative work of the Association under the overall supervision of the President/Vice-President. He/ She shall keep a proper record (minutes) of the proceedings of the Executive Committee meetings and the General Body meetings.

(d) Joint Secretary

The Joint Secretary shall assist the Secretary in all matters and, whenever necessary, shall perform all the functions and duties of the Secretary in his/her absence.

(e) Treasurer

The Treasurer shall be in charge of all funds of the Association, which shall be deposited in a scheduled bank. He/ She shall be responsible for maintaining accounts of all income and expenditure of the Association. The bank account of the Association shall be opened in the name of the Association and shall be operated jointly by the President, Treasurer, and Secretary. However, at any time, any two of the authorized signatories may operate the bank account.

(f) In case the President ceases to function due to illness, resignation, or any other reason, the Vice-President shall automatically assume the functions of the President until the completion of the term of the Executive Committee.

7. Duties of the Executive Committee

(A) The Executive Committee shall meet at least once in four months. The quorum for these meetings shall be seven members.

(B) The Executive Committee shall have the following powers:

  • a. To supervise the general administration of the Association.
  • b. To appoint committees or sub-committees, which shall be directly responsible to the Executive Committee.
  • c. To recommend to the General Body such rules, regulations, or amendments to the Constitution as it may deem fit, provided that they are consistent with the aims and objectives of the Association.
  • d. To consider and approve applications for membership. The Executive Committee shall not be bound to assign reasons for accepting or rejecting any application.
  • e. To acquire movable property through purchase or donation and to maintain proper records thereof.

8. No Confidence Motion

If requested by 10% of members on grounds of irregularity or misconduct, an extra-ordinary meeting with 15 days' notice shall be held. A two-thirds majority of present members is required to adopt the motion.

9. Raising of Funds

The Executive Committee has the authority to raise funds from individuals, institutions, and organizations through direct appeals, donations, advertisements, or any other appropriate manner.

10. Dissolution

Dissolution requires a two-thirds majority at an Extra-Ordinary meeting. In such event, all assets shall be transferred to Hindupat Institute of Teacher Training, Raghogarh, Guna.
