Anti Discrimination Cell

Constitution and Objectives of the Anti-Discrimination Cell: Anti-Discrimination Cell has been constituted in Hindupat Institute of Teacher Training, Raghogarh in compliance to the NCTE / UGC Regulations, 2012 (Promotion of Equity in Higher Educational Institutions and Grievance Redressal) with the following members:

Objectives of the Cell:

1. This cell will look after the related matters (if any) of depriving a student / staff or group of students on the basis of caste, creed, language, ethnicity, gender, differentiability.

2. This cell always try to uphold the dignity of the institution by addressing the concerns (if any) brought into the notice related to equality in offering or receiving education inside the institute.

3. This cell ensures conducive environment for academic growth of the students belonging to the institute.

4. This cell protects the rights of individuals without any prejudice to their appearance or lifestyle in the process of learning in the institute.

5. The Cell shall eliminate discrimination against or harassment of any individual in all forms by prohibiting it and by providing preventive and protective measures to facilitate its eradication and punishments for those who indulge in any form of discrimination or harassment.



Anti-Ragging Cell

As per the mandate of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the College has constituted the Anti Ragging Cell to prevent any form of ragging on and off the campus. The Anti-Ragging cell is the Statutory Body to ensure that Campus is free from any kind of Ragging.

The main functions of the committee are:

  • To disseminate information against indulging in any kind of ragging issued by The Honorable Supreme Court of India, The Honorable High Court of Madhya Pradesh and the UGC.
  • To organize awareness Programmes on gender equity, human rights and dignity, moral and ethical values.
  • To examine the complaints lodged by the students on any kind of Ragging and to conduct an enquiry in this regard.
  • To formulate strategies to prevent and discourage menace of Ragging on and off the campus.

Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Cell:

  • To prevent any form of Ragging on and off Campus.

The following actions come under the purview of Ragging:

  • Any act that violates the Fundamental Right guaranteed by the Indian constitution.
  • Any act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS, public insult or through Social Media Platforms
  • Any act of molesting or any unlawful conspiracy or assembly with intention for ragging.
  • Any act of indiscipline on the College campus.
  • Teasing or behaving in rude and threatening manner.
  • Acts that disrupts the regular academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the college.
  • Acts of creating hardship, physical or mental stress or fear, which disturbs the learning atmosphere for the students.
  • Financial extortion or forceful expenditure from students.
  • Any act of physical abuse or assault causing harm or danger to life and health.

Scope of the Anti- Ragging Cell:

The Anti-Ragging Cell functions in the following areas.

  • Receive complaints on any matters related to Ragging.
  • Conduct enquiry in accordance to the guidelines laid down by the UGC and Affiliating University.
  • Recommends actions to be initiated against the culprits including suggestions to forward the matter to the Station House Officer (SHO).

Procedure of the Anti-Ragging Cell:

The Anti-Ragging Cell will follow the following procedure.

  • Receive the complaints in writing from the concerned students.
  • Examine the matter in detail on the basis of available documents.
  • Recommend to the Principal to forward the matter to the Station House Office (SHO) if there is any merit in the matter.
  • Recommend to the Principal to initiate disciplinary action against the culprit.

Punishments:

Any student found guilty of Ragging on College Campus is liable to one or more of the following punishments

  • Suspension from the College.
  • Debarring from appearing in Internal and University Examinations.
  • Cancellation of Admission and compulsory Transfer Certificate.
  • Any punishment or fine awarded by the Legal Authority.

The Anti Ragging Committee works as the Discipline Committee of the College:

  • The Anti Ragging Committee also functions as the Discipline Committee of the College as it sets the tone for maintenance of discipline on the College campus and ensures congenial academic atmosphere in the College.
  • The Committee is also authorized to look into the complaints relating to the breach of discipline, students’ disturbances, unlawful activities disturbing the peaceful functioning of the College, and other forms of indiscipline among the students.
  • The Committee is empowered to conduct enquiry on the matters of student’s indiscipline and suggest appropriate punitive and corrective measures.

GENDER SENSITIZATION (INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE)

In pursuance of UGC (Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations, 2015 read with Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Hindupat Institute of Teacher Training is constituted:

1. To deal with the complaints relating to Sexual harassment at work place.

2. To spread awareness about gender-related issues and functioning of the ICC

The College has a zero tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and is proactively committed to provide a safe conducive work and academic environment to students & employees. We at HITT are extremely alert to matters pertaining to any kind of harassment & gender sensitivity. Any female aggrieved in this matter may fearlessly approach the Presiding Officer of the ICC against sexual harassment.

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • To help the Placement Cell to maintain contacts with Alumni.
  • To help the Placement Cell to organize the various processes like written test, group discussion, technical interviews, HR interviews when companies come to the campus for placement drive.
  • To organize activities aimed at improving Institute – Industry – Interaction.
